This week Australian singer/songwriter Benji Lewis is excited to share his debut Hearts & Halos EP, along with its fourth and final single, ‘Night & Day’.
Two of the ep’s previous singles, ‘Why’ & ‘Never Leave You Lonely’, were inspired by an exciting new relationship that ended just as quickly as it begun, leaving Benji feeling angry and confused.
‘Reach You Where You Are’ and new single ‘Night & Day’, were written in the dark months after Benji’s mother lost her battle with cancer. More heartache and confusion dominated his life, but he found a kind of solace in putting these emotions and feelings into his songwriting – unbeknown at the time that these musings would result in the release of his debut ep.
With a vocal sound & style that can be likened to Sam Smith, Active Child and Antony Hegarty, Benji Lewis captivates and inspires with his vocal complexity and technique, as it’s nestled amongst tidy arrangements of smooth electronic beats, swooping synths, and textured atmospheric sounds.
