Blending elements of dance, house, and UKG, 44 Ardent crafts a sound that feels both expansive and intimate, taking cues from influences like Caribou, Jamie xx, and Tourist. “I’ve always loved a big, emotional, wall-of-sound drop with lots of elements and complexity,” he explains. “Back then, people would literally scan the waveform and skip straight to the drop, so artists put a lot of energy into making that first moment hit hard. These days, it feels like hooks at the very start are more important, but for me, old habits die hard.”

Lyrically, the track carries a deeper reflection. With lines like ‘cold iron, hot brand’, 44 Ardent explores the sting of human interactions:
