cln is an Australian songwriter/producer who makes a unique blend of alternative-R&B music with indie-pop influence which has a sound that can be likened to a mix between Joji, James Blake and Bon Iver.
Just last month he gave us a stunning new single called ‘Monday Morning’ which also came with news of his next album coming our way soon, and he is giving us another little taste of what we can expect from that with the beautifully chilled sounds of new single ‘ihopeyoufindsomeone’, which is a heartfelt song about the meaning of life and wanting to be remembered.
“This is a song about wanting to be remembered + the meaning of life in general. I think most people have some sort of desire to leave a lasting imprint on the world, so this vaguely touches on that feeling.
Usually my songs sound super different to the original demo, but in this case I decided to keep it quite raw + close to the first idea. I wrote and recorded this at 4000 studios in Brisbane, where I have been spending a bit more time writing in the past year. I love working at home, but for this string of singles I wanted to get out of my comfort zone/home studio and write somewhere different. It’s also really easy to get distracted at home and start working on other things, so going to the studio more has helped me to lock in and do a tonne of writing. Lots more coming soon.” ~ cln
