Hotel Decor is a new project by Canadian artist Csaba Laszlo, who has a psychedelic/indie-dance sound that can be likened to a mix between Toro Y Moi, Metronomy and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.
Last month Csaba gave us the project’s first single ‘All The Rage’, which also came with news of his debut four-track ep, “Could It Take Me Any Longer”, coming our way in June, and this week he is very excited to share the ep’s second single and title-track with us all.
As Csaba reveals below, this particular song came to be during a transitional period in his life and it may have been influenced slightly by bingeing an American sitcom, it’s also the first song he decided to record his own voice on…
“This was the first song I wrote after myself and my studio partner had to move all of our gear out of the shared studio space we were using just over a year ago. I basically had all my studio gear crammed into my bedroom, trying to figure out what I wanted to make. I ended up watching a lot of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” on my second monitor while tracking this.
That’s kind of how it came to be. It was also the first song I ended up properly attempting to do vocals for. I didn’t want to go for anything super crisp or studio-quality sounding, and I was really happy with how they turned out.” – Hotel Decor
‘Could It Take Me Any Longer’ is available everywhere now via Mammal Sounds Records and stay tuned over the coming weeks for a Dual Sense directed music video.
