Australian disco/dance duo Midnight Pool Party return this week with their latest single ‘NOTICE ME’, a sleek and emotionally charged cut that pairs their signature feel-good grooves with bittersweet honesty and dancefloor energy.
Written toward the end of last year just before the duo took a Christmas break, ‘NOTICE ME’ came together organically once the main hook and central theme locked into place. “After the break, we spent a lot of time talking about the lyrics and finding the right words to capture the emotions of the journey you go through in a certain situation,” the band explain.
At its heart, the track explores a feeling almost everyone knows too well: wanting to be seen by someone who doesn’t feel the same way. “Love is universal, but so is the experience of not being noticed, and hiding how deeply it affects you,” they add.
The song unpacks the internal push and pull of protecting yourself emotionally, pretending you’re fine while quietly wrestling with your own thoughts, trying to stay in control and avoid getting hurt.
