Monster Machine is the project of Sydney-based DJ and producer Penny Yang, who’s musical awakening and love for hard bass music, came about during Alison Wonderland’s explosive set at Listen Out in 2015.
After spending a few years in Sydney’s unique dance scene, Penny’s path to the decks began through the YourShot DJ competition in 2022, where she was named as one of the finalists.
From there everything seemed to snowball, and what started out as a hobby, transformed into something much more enveloping and exciting. Since then, Penny has developed her own powerful style, blending elements of trap, dubstep, techno, and DnB into her sets, and has since earned her support slots alongside Lucille Croft, Slumberjack and Dimension.
Drawing inspiration from trap and 140 bass music titans like Lizdek, Skrillex and Viperactive, Penny is now channelling her love for bass music into original material, which is sure to take Monster Machine to a whole new level.
