ZUSO is a project from Australian producer Gabriel Cuenca, who is crafting an invigorating progressive/atmospheric-house sound that can be likened to a mix between Rufus Du Sol, Lane 8 and Flume.

Gabriel’s love for music began at a very young age. At just seven-years old he began playing piano, studying the “Suzuki” music method, and at that time had very little knowledge of the electronic music scene. That all changed during high school as he fell in love with Flumes 2012 self-titled debut album, and from there his curiosity for electronic music started to take on a life of its own.

Over the next few years, Gabriel started experimenting with music production. By 2019 he had released his first single ‘Skies’ and that’s when the ZUSO project was officially formed. He then went onto studying music production and slowly began exploring even more styles, genres and many other artists.

“I feel my style and sound really started to cement itself during the Covid lockdown period, where I really started to gel towards themes such as escapism and melodic soundscapes and textures, helping not just me but also others to forget about all the crazy stuff that was happening in the world. That led me to releasing my first Ep ‘Lost In Time’ which really showcases those themes and emotions which I feel as an artist was a turning point for me and my brand.” ~ Gabriel Cuenca

Fast forward to 2023 and ZUSO has since released two eps – “Skies” and “Lost In Time” – alongside a tidy collection of stand-alone singles. He’s also just recently partnered with Sweat It Out’s sister imprint LOVE CLVB for a few stand-alone releases coming up over the Australian summer and he is excited by the opportunities that may come from this community.

He’s been working hard at refining his DJ skills and is excited to be doing more DJ sets over the coming months as well.
